About me

I am Marianne Herr, born and raised in Switzerland, and I have been living with my husband Guenter and our sons in Germany for more than twenty years.

For years I looked for the perfect way to support people in their change process towards becoming all of what God holds in store for them.

What I did:

Understanding and helping others has always been an essential part of making my life more meaningful.

As a nurse, I provided people a level of dignity, compassion, encouragement, and comfort for their next stage in life, whether getting back on track or dying well.

As an anthropologist, I understand the social and cultural environment people live in and how it influences and forms their worldview.

Becoming an ordained minister knitted my faith and intellectual knowledge into a beautiful tapestry of helping and assisting people in many areas in their lives, such as living peacefully and joyfully in harmonious and challenging times.

Years later, I discovered coaching. My Created for More coaching program combines all of my expertise and assists you to move and develop into all that God has in mind for you.

We change as our lives change; learning to see life issues from a different perspective and gain a deeper understanding of what is happening enables us to move forward, handle and overcome challenging situations better, and thrive despite circumstances.

As a coach, I assist people to journey into a meaningful, more fulfilled, and harmonious life. We should create our future, not let it happen by chance.  I help people remove hindrances within, such as the victim mindset and a lack of confidence, and without, finding the perfect way to stir through life’s challenges.

Who I am:

As an attentive listener, I always had a magnetic effect on people stuck on the road and in desperate need of somebody to talk to and regain fresh vision and focus.

One of the very first persons I coached was a schoolmate. One day he called and started to share profound thoughts and doubts about himself and life in general. I did not have any answers for him. He talked, and I listened with the occasional “yes,” or “uhu,” or “I understand,” and a few questions asked. During our 45 minutes telephone call, he brightened up. We ended the phone call with him having found joy and brightness about his life.

Listening deeply without giving advice or judging him was all he needed at the time.

I pursued a career in which I hoped to serve people in more significant ways. However, my education in nursing and anthropology did not give me the tools needed for people to pursue their personal or business goals.  Counseling within the church setting was more often than not searching for the wounds of past mistakes to be healed instead of looking ahead towards a brighter future.

Whenever somebody in my house group began to share dreams of a fulfilled life, I encouraged the person to pursue those. But more often than not, they would not.

They did not know how to, and at that time, I lacked the tools to help.

Sometimes they did not understand that these dreams and desires had been given to them by God to pursue to add joy and fulfillment to their lives.

Sometimes personal changes and overcoming obstacles, such as insecurity, low self-esteem, or fear of a change process, held people back and caused them to give up their pursuit prematurely.

I understood so very well because I experienced precisely the same thing.

I would often begin to pursue a goal. But then challenges appeared, or friends and family tried to discourage me. Fighting by myself was hard, and I lacked the stamina, the knowledge, the support. And soon, my original joy and conviction began to fade, and I was catapulted back into where I was before I started.

I discovered coaching as a great tool to assist people in pursuing dreams, desires, and a life of greater fulfillment and satisfaction.

I have meanwhile been able to help people find clarity and pursue the steps needed to get to where they wanted to be in life.

I have gone from uncertainty to confidence, insecurity to clarity, and anxiety to competence. In my case, it was a long process. Let it be a shorter journey for you. Let’s connect for an inquiry session.

What lights me up about this work is knowing that I can assist people in seeing their lives as more meaningful and satisfactory, learning to stop dreaming and living their dreams instead.

What sets me apart from other coaches is that I approach my coaching from a Christian point of view without forcing my personal beliefs on people.

The solution to any problem is in every person’s inner self, and it is my joy to bring them to the surface through coaching.

We change as our lives change; learning to see life issues from a different perspective and gain a deeper understanding of what is happening enables us to move forward, handle and overcome challenging situations better, and thrive despite circumstances.

My expertise found its publicity in two Ebooks, a contribution on cross-cultural care in a hospital paper, public speeches, a vision board workshop, several blogs, and leading a women’s homegroup.

More interesting facts:

Although I lived, worked, and studied in London for nine years, my mother tongue is German.

My knowledge of different languages and cultures and my in-depth study of human identity when changing cultural settings enable me to understand the human experience broadly.

My Ph.D. – Thesis in anthropology addresses the issues of changing culture. I studied how people react when life changes happen and how we best remove any hindrances that circumstances might put in our way.
